Correction

I stand corrected....I spoke with Steve this evening and he said that the merger won't go through until June which means they won't really know about any big changes until probably January. The whole house deal. on hold. 'til January.

Manic Monday

So there's lots to catch up on at school after being out for break. Nothing bad really- just a lot of stuff (so then "why" you're asking, am I blogging at work? A girl's just gotta vent sometime!)
The real bombshell came at 7:30 this morning. Steve left about 6:30 am and will be traveling all this week for work. He calls me at 7:30 and says he just found out his company got bought out and he won't really know what all that means until maybe June or July. He does feel that he will still have a job, but he may not be able to continue to work from home. The next closest office? Orlando. Sooo...He MAY loose his job, we MAY be moving, but we won't know all that for sure for a few months and until then house plan are on hold!
But I guess someone is trying to tell me something... when I first logged onto here the song playing was "Blessed." Yes, I am blessed and it could be worse. Just puts a wrinkle in things. Oh well.
Like I said, just needed to vent!

slacker spring break

Well, here it is, the last 2 days of spring break. It's been good but rather uneventful.
Easter weekend was nice and we spent time with friends and family (see previous posts). Monday we didn't do anything except we went to the movies that night with friends to see "Enchanted", which is really cute. Tuesday it was cold so that was a bust. Since there wasn't a whole lot going on and Steve and I had just had a big fight, I decided to go to the mountains with my parents for a few days. They have a place just over the SC border, south of Hendersonville, NC. They have spent the past year or so "flipping" it. It's not 100% finished yet, but getting there.
Anyway, we went up Wednesday afternoon. It was nice, a little boring, a little tiring, but I had the time so why not? I say tiring b/c the cabin isn't exactly child-proof nor equipped with cable (ie. no Dora or Mickey Mouse on demand) so I had to entertain Savannah a good bit. But she slept like a champ in her little sleeping bag so that counts for a lot.
We went "to town" once for dinner and another time we had a picnic by the lake. (I love this shot and the silly look on everyone's face!)Mostly, we just took little walks and cleaned up in the cabin while Papa worked on the cabinets and trim work. We came back on Friday afternoon just in time for the cold front. yea.
Today, I did some house stuff and a little yard stuff. Tomorrow is church and Monday is back to work! Like I said, it was nice, but I feel like I wasted half my break. I had intented to go to the zoo, get Savannah a haircut, get the dog a haircut, weed all my flowers, go shopping, etc... I know, I know... "boo hoo." you say. Spring break is, afterall a break not everyone gets so I do appreciate that.

Eggs-ellent weekend!

It was such a nice weekend! Friday, Savannah and I went to an egg hunt at a friends house. Afterwards we had a yummy lunch and prizes! It was cute to see her and 7 other little ones looking for eggs. Actually, Savannah was one of the older kids and it made me appreciate having a 2 1/2 year old! I didn't have to constantly chase her and wonder what she was getting into or putting in her mouth! It's moments like those tht make me wonder, "baby number 2??...not yet."

Saturday we had brunch and another egg hunt at BFF Harper's house. Our friend Hannah was there too. The girls were so into it, we had to hide the eggs twice! The girls were dressed real cute so we had some good photo opps. Afterwards, we moved it to the front yard for sidewalk chalk!
Saturday night was my niece Grace's b-day party. It was a fun, little gathering at my brother's house. Of course, we had to tear Savannah away from the NEW trampoline to go. Yes, it was not my idea, but daddy bought her a trampoline and she LOVES it! Of course we got one with the sides so it's OK.

Sunday was Easter. Savannah got up bright and early so we went ahead and let her get her Easter basket. Mostly little toys, some candy. Then we (me and her) got ready and went to church. Afterwards, it was the traditional lunch at grandma's with heaps of good food. We did pic-nic style and some of the offerings included: hot dogs, taco bake, cheese platter, bar-b-que sandwiches, chicken salad, brocoli salad, cupcakes, eclair dessert, etc....I made Greek pasta salad and had a lot of leftovers so I turned it into a pasta bake! genious!

Anyway...it was a fabulous weekend with fabulous weather! On to the rest of spring break!
